Verso was commissioned to create a brand dlr LexIcon, the new central library and cultural centre for Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. This ongoing project involves the design and production of a range of branded marketing materials for activities within the library. As part of the roll out of the new brand the exterior signage has been installed.

Home exhibition at dlr LexIcon

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council are inviting submissions for the inaugural Visual Art Open Submission Exhibition to be held in the Municipal Gallery, dlr LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire, from Friday 13 February to Sunday 22 March 2015.

The exhibition – which is open to artists who have studied in, are living in, working in or originally from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown – will be selected by Mark St. John Ellis, Director of nag Gallery Dublin. The theme is ‘Home’, a word which has the power to conjure a wide range of intense feelings and evoke a sense of familiarity, reflection, identity and history.

Returning for its 11th showing the IFI Stranger Than Fiction Documentary Film Festival starts today at the Irish Film Institute in Dublin. The festival showcases the very best in Irish and international documentary film making, featuring many Irish and world premieres. Running in tandem with the festival are a series of industry special events.

Once again Verso supplied design services to the festival, producing programmes, posters and press ads.

IPPA National Portrait Day

Our client, the Irish professional Photographer’s Association (IPPA), run the IPPA National Portrait Day – an annual fund raiser that since it first launched in 2006, has raised almost €500,000 for its chosen charities. The ISPCC, Ireland’s oldest and most well-known children’s charity, is their charity of the year for 2014.

For a €25 donation to the ISPCC you receive the gift of an individual portrait mini-session and a desk-size portrait with a participating member of the Irish Professional Photographers’ Association. 100% of every donation will be paid directly to the ISPCC and all costs are being donated by participating photographers.

William Klein, iconic filmmaker and photographer to visit IFI

As part of the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival the Irish Film Institute will host a mini William Klein season from February 14 to February 20. The satirical filmmaker and acclaimed fashion photographer will take part in a Q&A following the screening of Who Are You, Polly Maggoo? on February 20.

While working on the branding of the 2013 Dalkey Book Festival we were asked to create a poster for a charity fund raiser. The event sees Eva Berg (thesecretpilates.com), teach an hour long mat class. So if you would like to do good and feel good why not book a place at the class.

The brief was to strengthen the relationship between the awards and the Institute, so we created a concept based on the Institute’s tagline – the voice of marketing. The marketing industry is invited to join the conversation – tell their story – by entering the awards.
